Excitement

We're going back down to Kansas City starting Friday. The hotel we're staying at has access points everywhere. We're going to see if the room we're in is close enough as we planned to one so we can push the bandwidth gaming.

Plan is - leave early from work (all of us), group up at the bar we frequent and head south. We'll get there about 6pm if they can keep up with me. After that we get grounded at our hotel. About 9pm we want to be done with a light dinner and the computer shit set up. Then, you guessed it, the bars. We have friends down there that we'll be taking everybody to meet up with them at their place. Hopefully we can toast to the sunrise sometime before retiring to the hotel.

Saturday we want to wake up around 1pm, game 'till about 6pm and restart friday night's ritual.

Sunday around 1pm again, game 'till 7pm, go drink for an hour or so and then pack up and head North again.

Hopefully it goes through nicely.

911

Today was boring. You would think people would have more accidents today due to being nervous and would have to flood the hospitals or something. Nothing. Not a soul it seemed like. The usual shuffling of drones to and from. Nothing vital anywhere.

Speaking of braindead drones... I watched the Presidential Address tonight. I can't imagine why I thought it would be worth watching. I've seen more moving monologues at fifth grade spelling bees. It's entertaining seeing the top candidate from Jerry's telethons running the country. I don't know if Jerry himself appointed him or if he won the speech section at the special olympics. Either way. Riveting speech.

Huge weekend coming up though. Maybe that will pull my corpse ahead through the week.

Horrible

It's been so slow since my last post. Bar hopping friday and saturday night. Today was a lot of house work.

Tomorrow is that god damn day again. GOD DAMN DAY.

Fast Paced

I wasn't going to post the last two days because they were those cookie cutter days you will never remember. Same morning. Same work day. Same evening. Same bedtime. Same shit that you've done every other work day and nothing different happens at all. Same feeling clients. Same feeling lunch. Same walks. Same traffic. Same people. It just drug on.

Today was another of those days. Robots could do this job the last few days.

Amazing Weekend

Sunday
Woke up about an hour ago. People are sleeping in the two bedrooms here. I need to get off my ass and fix Beth's computers. When we were younger we would play a bunch of multiplayer games across this network. Three computers here ranging from beefed up 486 (runs like a high end P3) to a low range P4 that was top of it's game a few years ago. Not too bad. Just needs a lot of cleaning and software upgrades. Probably plenty of spyware and adware on some of these the way they run. Maybe I can get War Rock on these and see if any of the guys want to play hah.

Saturday
Everyone dispersed by about noon. All that was left at Beth's house was her Alisha and I. We got ready and went down to Old Towne bellevue and wandered around. All sorts of shit was going on. We thought it was going to rain though. Clouds looked like they were going to open up at any time. There was a carnival there that was tiny but fun once it opened. We heard music and went to where it was coming from and the 3 of us formed a little triangle and danced for a while. Music was somewhat shitty but it was fun anyway.

We ducked into a local backwoods looking shitty bar after the band was done. Turned out to be a table of hot people towards the back. We found a close table and started drinking. Wasn't long before our tables were pulled together.

David, Sarah, Jessie and Bryan are the names of the people at that table. After drinking quite a bit we came back to Beth's house to drink more. We usually drink in Iowa since the last call is at 2am rather than 1am over here.

Friday

Directly after work Beth picked me up and had Alisha and Bill in the back seat. I asked where we were going and she just smiled at me. I noticed everyone else was looking pretty good so I guessed dinner somewhere again. She pulled up to my house and predicitably said I needed to go inside and change.

I got in the car and she drove off. It was about 6:30pm. She pulled in to some nice steakhouse I forget the name of now. Most people were in suit and tie but we looked good enough to get in I guess. I didn't have a tie on but I did look dressed up. Bill paid for all of our dinners. I guess one of his clients scored big for him and he had thousands to blow. After that we hit the casinos in Council Bluffs. We played $400 a piece across the 4 casinos we went to.

After that we went back to this little ass club in one of the casinos. Spin? Stir? Swish? I don't remember the name of it. All I remember is all the hot people dancing on the tiny stage behind the bar. We left with one more person than we came with. And that's the end of what I'm typing about Friday night!

Group Home

I don't understand why people who don't have a history that would make parents want them to work with their children end up working with people's children. Someone came in all cut up today. They were working in a group home for retarded people and got into some legal altercation with someone. Ended up arrested. From what I've researched it looks like they've been in plenty of trouble before.

I was talking with Beth and some other coworkers about it at lunch and they had plenty of stories about this topic.

Why? Aren't there plenty of good people willing to take it in the ass monetarily to help people who need it? That's what I do. I fight for the poor folks my boss wants to fuck out of money and send to the back alley clinics.

Unknown Story

I have been watching the news to try and catch this. I haven't seen anything online, on the televised news or in the papers.

Late last night I got a call from a friend that I met in North Omaha. He sounded paniced. I told him to calm down and tried to pry information from his mixed sentences. Last thing he said was commentary about a mutual friend in the hospital.

Another friend from Carter Lake called and said he had been in North Omaha and heard gunfire down the street. I started putting credit into the calls because this friend and my friend from North Omaha were in completely different circles and I believe don't even know about eachother. People he was with ran down the alley to try and catch a view. I guess one house full of people was having problems with others down the street and it evolved to a gunfight between several houses. Couple people I know personally were in Immanuel Hospital.

I called up there to ask about one and the person I talked to said something about too many gunshot wounds to remember, must look it up. Obviously I was quite worried.

Thismorning I watched the news before work and checked the papers. Nothing. I've been checking online news, nothing. At lunch we watched the news at Taco Bell while we ate. Talked the people behind the counter into turning the TVs to news channels. Nothing. I watched during dinner after work, nothing.

At work papers came across my desk relating to a couple of the victims actually being at our hospital. I wanted to pay visits to the rooms and see if I knew them but I kept my distance. I'm just a little irritated that nothing is being mentioned of this. I don't even know the true scope of this yet. Just stories. Stories, comments and the fact that a hospital 25 minutes away from the scene has victims. There are 2 or 3 hospitals closer. Wonder how many they have.

Comical Bones

We went to a local comedy club. By local I mean we drove the same distance to the club that I do to get to work. 25 minute drives never hurt anyone. 50 minute drive from work to the comedy club hurt.

During the day we ended up going to Westroads another time. After a client's birthday bash we left with Beth's sister. We went to Westroads to pick up some sexy gear for my girlfriend. I think she's just jealous of the fact I think what her sister wears is sexy. The gear she bought is the same stuff her sister wears. I guess Beth used to wear it a while ago. That's how her sister got into it. I have no problem at all with Beth wearing it again. Fun fun fun.

It rained a hell of a lot today too.

Life is Good.

Being somewhat addicted to games:

Command and Conquer 3

oh and Diablo III I have on good faith is coming out the end of the year.

We'll see. I must play Diablo II now. But first, some reminders on the past few days.

Westroads.
Development.
Special Birth.
Friday Evening-Night.
Chinese Food.
Israel.

Early Days

I'm glad that I don't have to really work full days anymore. Being on salary and having had to pull 100+ hour weeks for so long, it's really nice to have the boss call down and ask if I'm busy. A lot lately I've said no. He either gives me some stuff to help with or just says go home, have fun. Sometimes I do, sometimes I don't. Pay doesn't change, why not.

We have been playing a game called War Rock. Seriously fun game. Still in beta phase, so soon as we find and report a bug we make sure to exploit it as long as it's there.

Cheering Up

Bill always has the power to make me laugh.

Billybobthorntongue: So, at work the other day I was holding a rubber band like a gun on my finger
Billybobthorntongue: and I was pointing it at a girl that works there
Billybobthorntongue: and she kept moving and I'd follow her with my rubber band finger gun
Billybobthorntongue: and what I MEANT to say was "You cannot escape the finger gun!"
Billybobthorntongue: What came out was, YOU CANNOT ESCAPE THE FINGERBANG
Jamesthefarthuffer: ahahahahahhahahahahaha
Jamesthefarthuffer: NICE
Jamesthefarthuffer: is she hot? hahahaha
Billybobthorntongue: pretty good looking
Jamesthefarthuffer: ahahaha
Jamesthefarthuffer: did she laugh?
Billybobthorntongue: yeah
Billybobthorntongue: about died laughing at it

Singing Fighting

Tonight we went out to karaoke. Seemed to be a pretty normal night for the most part.

This wonderfully guy with a nice full beard and sandals kept getting up on stage when nobody else would and sang with a beautiful passion. He was there with a group of friends but ended up chatting with all the tables where people had sang from. He is a pretty cool guy.

When he was sitting with us drinking we talked about the new beers they had at the bar and some of the previous singers. He said he worked with children and put in over 100 hours a week on salary as a manager of some sort. It was pretty obvious when you average out how much he would make an hour he was right where the people working under him were.

I got up there and hammered out Closer. I have a voice I rarely use. It's fun seeing new friends surprised when they hear me cry out "you get me closer to god."

About an hour ago we were out in the parking lot for a smoke (yes, the bar we were in doesn't allow smoking. Genius. Can kill off your internal organs but not your lungs. Cool.) The bearded fellow was out there smoking too. He came over to us and started to talk. This car pulled up and a couple tan guys jumped out and spit on him. He just stood there and tried to ignore them. I noticed there was a woman with a headdress concealing her face in the back of the car they got out of. I thought it was a disguise at first.

Wasn't a disguise.

The shorter tan guy spit on his feet again and the bearded guy put out his cigarette. He turned to go inside. He got about 20 feet -- half way from where we were standing to the door to get into the bar and the guys jumped him.

It wasn't three seconds before people were flowing out of the bar to help the guy with a wonderful voice. He yelled for them to leave him be and don't get involved. Bill and I jumped in as the people were coming out to help. We were punching the taller guy and the bearded singer was dodging punches from the shorter one. The guys who came out first grabbed the smaller one and held him.

When they grabbed and held the smaller one is when the bearded guy started telling us that we better leave before more of them show up. Some of the guys who came out of the bar after the first few grabbed and held the guy we were hitting. Guess that's a good thing. But the guy in the beard kept insisting we get out of there. Some of us actually did. Beth, Alisha Bill and I left. Several cars were leaving as we were at the lights at the end of the block.

I thought this was just another bar brawl 'till a few minutes before I started posting this. There was a story on the news about a hate crime between some Iranians and a Jewish person. Then they showed some arrest photos of the 2 guys we took care of and the guy who got assaulted. Holy shit.

I should have known this stuff was going on -- in a hospital and all. I need to ask around and see if I'm just missing stuff on paperwork or if it just doesn't come to the hospital I work at or what. I know our specific hospital is pretty religious. But hell. Crazy world.

It's Cold Outside

I decided to come home a whole hour and a half early today. I got sick of being sick. Not like I ever stay at work 'till I'm scheduled off anyway.

It's 3.8.6 today. Yesterday was 2.8.6. Tomorrow is 4.8.6 And Saturday is the almighty 5.8.6.

Monday was nuts. I can't believe I haven't posted since then. First thing in the morning I get this report on my desk that I have to call in to three seperate insurance companies for one guy. Evidentally the guy wasn't paying attention and crashed straight into the side of a train. It was an empty flatbed train car. So I guess the bottom was just level with the start of his hood. So his car got trapped under it and he hurt himself somewhere between the accident and jumping out to run and tell the conductor to stop. I honestly had a hard time keeping my voice from cracking because of laughter seeping through. One of the people I spoke to acutally laughed when they heard the situation. I didn't feel so bad afterwards.

Monday night was typical. Beth and I curled up in bed and watched more of Season Two of Nip/Tuck. We love that show. Alisha was supposed to come over for a few hours before bed but never showed. It's kind of typical of her anymore unfortunately for us.

Tuesday was one of those mechanical days you will never remember because everything was carbon copied from previous days. Tuesday night I suppose wasn't so bad since I had the opportunity to lead a telemarketer on for over an hour before declining his offer. I am so rude.

There was a traffic jam on the way to work thismorning. I thought I was going to be late but after 5 minutes of crawling the whole thing just started moving like normal minus one lane. It's nice when the idiots get through the bottle neck and the rest of us resume business as usual.

Alisha might come over tonight around 6pm and Beth's already here taking a shower so I suppose I should go cook. Bill might stop by later too. He wants his shit.

Honesty

I wish we could ride a big cat. Just like in White Castle. The rest we have covered. But we do need a big cat. A nice asian party would be nice, too. Maybe we can set one of those up for next weekend. The amazing heat gives a wonderful reason for lots of liquid and ice, yes? 115 comfort index at points today. We had so many people come in because of heat stroke. A whole group who got sick playing football and had 911 called due to their passing out. A whole group. Nobody was smart enough to look around and say, hey, we should probably slow it down.

I love the midwest.

I'm taking my two eyes that can barely read to bed. A morning full of talking to people awaits.

White Castle

One of the doctors that works on the third floor looks exactly like Kumar from White Castle. We're going to watch that movie in a little while. Fifteen minutes of pretending to work to go before I drive all the way home to just west of mexico in south omaha.

Tonight we're going to drink. We're going to drink quite a bit. Luckily for us we all know our limits and stop at those limits. As opposed to old friends who drank, threw up, drank, threw up more, drank, got angry, passed out. Limits repeatedly passed. No fun.

Lewis Black

Shamalama Ding Dong Sucks

I just saw this poster at the theaters. Beth took me to a movie that I'm not going to talk about because it was undesirable.

Yesterday was outstanding. It started about 11am when Alisha and her two friends showed up to go out. We all had some errands to run and figured we could do them together and break the ice with Alisha's two friends.

We paid bills and picked up supplies for the day. Was a fairly uneventful series of errands other than the OPPD guy. He was pretty involved in a phone conversation and Ryan was trying to ask questions about his account. The man behind the counter was obviously speaking with a friend on the phone. Finally Ryan quietly asked him if he can get it up anymore. The guy paused in the middle of a sentence and gave him a dirty look. Then continued talking in an annoyed tone of voice. Ryan said thanks for the receipt and took the glass part out of the lava lamp on his desk and left with it. He didn't even notice. It happened right in front of his computer and since he was looking out the window with his arms crossed, he didn't even notice. There were plenty of sounds while he was taking the top off and shutting it off. But Ryan walked out with the essence of the lava lamp without the guy even noticing. Awesome.

Everything after that went exactly how Alisha, Beth and I hoped. I'm leaving it at that.

Alisha, Jessica and Ryan all left a couple hours ago. I'm pretty tired and I think we're going to go to bed here after I'm done cooking dinner.

Memory: Begin

Seeing as my memory is getting to the point that I have to keep notes on everything so I don't fuck up people's accounts, I'm going to start a journal so I don't start fucking up relationships.

MORNING:

Beth met me for coffee before work. We usually drink at the starbucks on broadway before heading to the hospital. She works as a receptionist in the E.R. and I work in accounting. It's absurdly boring usually. Sometimes I have to break some customer's heart concerning debt but usually it's just boring. Even some of the customers I have to work bills out with are boring. Just the ones who understandably can't afford absolutely needed health care and aren't very good at interracting with people entertain me.

We bumped into Alisha on the way to clock in. She's a good friend of ours. We talked for a bit about plans for saturday. Pretty exciting. Supposed to meet a couple friends of hers.

For anyone who doesn't know me and is unfortunate enough to stumble upon this, My name is James and Beth is my girlfriend. We've been dating for quite a while now. Pretty happy with her. Not often you find someone who looks elegant in scrubs and dresses in black looking sexy as hell, listens to great music (Nine Inch Nails, Marilyn Manson, Tool, Cold, Orgy, Alice in Chains, etc) and .... other wonderous traits. Love her.

Honestly, nothing eventful has really happened today. I might make some random posts concerning stories I would like to remember, though. Might even throw some fictional stories up for fun.
